When we made the decision to move to Panama, it wasn’t about escaping life in the United States — it was about building a new one. We wanted to raise our children in an environment that values community, nature, and cultural connection. Our dream was not just to create a business, but to create a life with purpose. A life where our children would grow up understanding what it means to give back, to protect the ocean and rainforest, and to walk alongside the people who call this place home.

That dream became public when we were invited to appear on HGTV’s House Hunters: Off the Grid, Season 2, Episode 6: “YOLO in Bocas del Toro.” The cameras followed our family as we searched for a home and laid the foundation for a new life. It was more than a television episode — it was a chance to share with the world the vision we had for Bocas del Toro. We wanted people to see what we saw: a paradise of culture, resilience, and beauty, and a place worth investing in with both heart and resources.

Being featured on an international channel gave us the opportunity to promote Panama in a way few get to. Millions of people saw not just the houses we toured, but the islands, the people, and the spirit of Bocas. It showed that we weren’t here as outsiders trying to take — we were here as a family, ready to put down roots and give.

From that moment forward, we worked every day to live up to the commitment we made — to honor the islands, to respect the local culture, and to give back whenever we could. Whether it has been through supporting soccer clubs, providing donations to schools and children, launching community projects, or creating opportunities for local families, our intention has remained the same. We came here to be part of the islands. And everything we’ve done, from being on television to the quiet moments in the community, has been about proving that commitment with our actions.
